Profile:
ABOUT ME For more than 30 years, I have worked in hospitals, primary health care and in the community supporting change, growth and inclusion. I offer counseling and information for individuals and their families and have specialized training that enables me to offer treatment for people struggling to understand their experiences and responses to traumatic memories, disability and life transitions. My approach combines health promotion with talk therapy to help people to resolve barriers and achieve their goals. My focus is strengths based, drawing on clients abilities, knowledge and supports. QUALIFICATIONS Prior to establishing a private practice, I worked for many years in the spinal cord rehabilitation program at Parkwood Hospital. In addition to this experience, I have also worked in many hospital programs offered at London Health Sciences Centre. Before working in the hospital settings, I worked for many community based programs that specialize in services and supports to individuals facing barriers associated with social exclusion including disability, cultural diversity and poverty. I completed the Masters of Social Work (M.S.W.) at King’s University, UWO. I am a Registered Social Worker (R.S.W.) with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. I have completed additional training and have received level 1 and level 2 Trauma Certificate program offered at the Hinks Dellcrest Centre. Additionally I have also completed the certificate program in Narrative Therapy also offered at the Hinks Dellcrest Centre. I look forward to the opportunities we may share in the future.
