Dr. Stevenson Baker

Connect & Thrive Psychology
Clinical Psychologist
Profile

Training & Experience

Dr. Baker obtained his doctoral degree in clinical psychology (neuropsychology stream) from York University. His academic research in brain science was highly regarded and published in leading journals such as Current Biology. His dissertation work also earned him the Canadian Psychological Association’s Certificate of Academic Excellence.

Dr. Baker completed his residency at the Max Rady College of Medicine in Winnipeg, which included specialized training at an Operational Stress Injury (OSI) clinic serving veterans of the Canadian Forces and members of the RCMP. He also gained expert experience at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Baycrest Health Sciences in Toronto, where he focused on brain health, memory, and helping people regain thinking skills after an illness or injury.

Approach to Care

In the therapy room, Dr. Baker’s goal is to help you “Be Present, Open Up, and Do What Matters.” He believes that while we cannot always control the difficult thoughts or emotions that “cloud” our minds, we can choose how we respond to them. His approach focuses on helping you stay psychologically flexible and in contact with your personal values so you can make choices that lead to a more fulfilling life.

When conducting assessments, Dr. Baker uses specialized, empirically supported measures to understand exactly how your brain is functioning. This approach allows him to create a personalized roadmap—whether for a formal report or a treatment plan—that is tailored specifically to your unique strengths and needs.

At Connect & Thrive Psychology clinic, all services are provided virtually.
