Dr. Amy Shannon received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University.

Before founding Resolution Psychology Dr. Shannon spent 5 years working at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Psychological Trauma/Work, Stress, & Health programs where she assisted individuals who were experiencing challenges with the sequela of psychological trauma with a special focus on working with first responders. Dr. Shannon has also completed training at the University Health Network where she focused on assisting individuals who had challenges with eating and body image. In addition, she has published several scholarly works focused on perfectionism, eating, and body image.

​Dr. Shannon has received training in Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Gottman Couples Therapy.

At Resolution Psychology, Dr. Shannon provides assessment and treatment for adults and couples with a range of challenges including: depression, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, and stress. She also has a special interest in assisting clients with concerns related to trauma, eating, and body image. She strives to use her training in evidence-based approaches to therapy to collaboratively work with clients to meet their goals and create lasting change in their lives.

In addition to her work at Resolution Psychology, Dr. Shannon also holds a faculty position at York University.
