In addition to his Master's degree in Physiotherapy from McMaster University, Hoong has obtained a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences from the University of Western Ontario and an additional Master's degree in Health and Exercise Psychology from McMaster University. During his academic career, Hoong was published in scientific journals like "Disability and Rehabilitation" and "The Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology." His research followed the spinal cord injury (SCI) population's wheelchair mobility, quality of life, and levels of physical activity. He has honed his skills at locations such as The Centre for Health Promotion and Rehabilitation (Hamilton, Ontario) and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute (Lyndhurst Centre). During his Master's degree in Physiotherapy, Hoong had the opportunity to work in a variety of private orthopaedic and rehabilitative settings, where he gained extensive experience. Hoong provides his treatments through manual therapy, soft tissue release, electrical modalities, and therapeutic exercises. He also has a vested interest in learning acupuncture, manual therapy,NDT-Bobath training, and is currently registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. As a former varsity athlete, Hoong enjoys fun activities and sports like badminton, hiking, weight training, and Muay Thai. He is very passionate about his work and uses a client-centred approach to create goals during physiotherapy.
