Ms. Neervana Ramotar

Social Worker
Profile

Elements of Change Psychotherapy is a warm, trauma-informed private practice serving adults and teens across Ontario. Founded by Neervana Ramotar, MSW, RSW, a first-generation Indo-Caribbean psychotherapist and trauma survivor, the practice provides a deeply compassionate space for healing, self-exploration, and emotional safety.

Neervana’s lived experience — growing up in a culture where mental health was stigmatized and emotional pain was often carried in silence — fuels her mission to support clients who have felt unseen, overwhelmed, or alone in their struggles. She specializes in working with individuals navigating childhood trauma, anxiety, cultural and family pressures, emotional dysregulation, people-pleasing, complex relationship dynamics, and generational wounds.

Her therapeutic approach blends DBT, IFS, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness, offering clients a grounded, culturally sensitive, and highly personalized healing experience. Clients describe her work as gentle and validating, yet deeply transformative — a place where they finally feel understood, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.

Elements of Change Psychotherapy welcomes clients from all backgrounds, with a particular commitment to supporting South Asian, Caribbean, immigrant, and highly sensitive individuals who have long carried emotional burdens without adequate support.

At its core, the practice is built on three pillars: compassion, curiosity, and care. Through evidence-based therapy and authentic connection, Neervana helps clients regulate their nervous systems, heal from trauma, strengthen boundaries, and reconnect with their truest selves.
