I draw from several years of academic training and employment in government and currently, in post-secondary education. I obtained a Ph.D. from Carleton University then completed 5 years of post-doctoral clinical training at the University of Ottawa. I became registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario in 2001 (#3891) and hold 3 practice areas (forensic/correctional, clinical, and counselling psychology) for 2 population groups (adolescents and adults). I hold the following academic appointments: • Associate Professor- Faculty of Professional Schools, Laurentian University • Assistant Professor Clinical Education- Northern Ontario School of Medicine, Division of Clinical Sciences- Laurentian and Lakehead University • Associate Professor- School of Graduate Studies: • Ph.D. in Rural and Northern Health • Masters in Human Development • Masters in Human Kinetics Experience has been acquired through adult and adolescent clinical, management and research settings involving inpatient psychiatric, community mental health, and for 13 years, the federal correctional system. I maintain an active research agenda focusing on mental health in under-serviced populations. I am a member of the Ontario, Canadian, and American Psychological Associations. I have served as Vice Dean in the Faculty of Professional Schools (2007-2011) at Laurentian University, Senior Review and Evaluation Manager at the Correctional Service of Canada and District Psychologist at the Correctional Service of Canada.
