Profile

Kyle Whaley is a registered physiotherapist with more than 20 years of experience in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex neurological, orthopedic, and traumatic injuries. As Executive Director and Co-owner of Propel Physiotherapy, he combines extensive clinical expertise with a commitment to delivering collaborative, evidence-informed rehabilitation.

A graduate of the University of Toronto’s Master of Science in Physical Therapy program, Kyle began his career at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute – Lyndhurst Centre, where he developed a strong foundation in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. His clinical experience also includes work in Australia and New Zealand across acute care and rehabilitation settings, followed by orthopedic and sports injury practice in Ontario before returning to neurological rehabilitation.

Kyle has dedicated the majority of his career to working with individuals who have sustained catastrophic and complex injuries. His areas of clinical expertise include spinal cord injury (SCI), traumatic brain injury (TBI), concussion and persistent post-concussion symptoms, stroke, vestibular disorders, and complex orthopedic injuries, with a particular interest in clients recovering from motor vehicle accidents.

He has pursued postgraduate training in the Bobath Concept, vestibular rehabilitation, manual therapy, acupuncture, chronic pain management, and wheelchair seating and mobility. Kyle also serves as an Adjunct Lecturer and Lab Clinician with the University of Toronto’s Master of Physical Therapy Program and the Ontario Internationally Educated Physical Therapy Bridging (OIEPB) Program.

In addition to clinical practice, Kyle serves on the Boards of Directors of both the Ontario Physiotherapy Association and the Ontario Rehab Alliance, contributing to initiatives that advance rehabilitation practice and improve access to high-quality care for Ontarians with complex injuries.
