Bianca has a significant skill set for assessment and treatment of a wide variety of speech and language disorders across medical populations, and has worked extensively with the adult acquired brain injury subset. Through this she has acquired the therapeutic skills and knowledge necessary for assessment and treatment of cognitive communication, motor speech disorders, language disorders, voice disorders, and dysphagia. In addition Bianca has devoted significant time to researching and utilizing a sensory awareness therapy with the severe acquired brain injury population. After graduating in 2004, Bianca worked at London Health Sciences Centre, providing service to the trauma program, critical care, orthopaedic surgery, family medicine, and palliative care programs. She was responsible for completing formal cognitive communication screening and assessments to all trauma patients with a suspected ABI. Additionally, she completed formal aphasia, dysarthria and dysphagia assessments. Bianca also has significant experience providing sensory enhancement therapy with severely injured clients and their families, and was the only therapist performing this type of work during her 7 year tenure at the London Health Sciences Centre.
