Profile:
Dr. Frank is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario and licensed to practice within the province of Ontario in both Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation Psychology with adolescents, adults, and couples. Dr. Frank is also a member of the Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board and the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology and is licensed to practice psychology within those jurisdictions as well. Dr. Frank is a member of the Ontario Psychological Association, the Society for Personality Assessment, the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology (CRHSPP), the Medical Legal Society of Toronto, the Canadian Society of Medical Evaluators and is the sitting President and Chair of Credentialing for the Canadian Academy of Psychologists in Disability Assessment. Dr. Frank holds C-CAT(MB) and CMLE(O) Certification from CAPDA|CSME as a founding developer of both the Certification in Catastrophic Impairment Evaluation (C-CAT) and Certification in Medico-Legal Expertise (CMLE) training and certification programs. He is one of the core course instructors for topics related to assessment of psychological impairment and he sits on the Examination and Executive Committees for both programs. Dr. Frank has also completed all requirements for the Microprogram of Insurance Medicine and Medico-legal Expertise with the Université de Montreal, Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Frank’s training and experience to date includes work in psychological trauma, the treatment of chronic pain, the assessment of disability, and rehabilitation following injuries. He has considerable teaching experience, having taught numerous undergraduate courses, and having supervised Masters-level clinicians, doctoral students and PhD-level psychologists in clinical and rehabilitation assessment and treatment. He has co-authored a book chapter with statistical normative data for using the Personality Assessment Inventory with Ontario MVA claimants. Dr. Frank currently serves as a peer reviewer for the academic journal Psychological Injury and Law. Dr. Frank has consulted on a part-time basis to Canada Border Services Agency where he has provided risk assessment, crisis intervention, triage/treatment planning, and cognitive-behavioural therapy to detainees of various cultures/backgrounds held at the Immigration Holding Centre. Dr. Frank currently runs a multidisciplinary private practice clinic in Thornhill, Ontario where he and his colleagues see individuals with a wide range of psychological difficulties. Since 2004, Dr. Frank has been performing psychological disability assessments for individuals in a wide range of personal injury contexts, both at the request of plaintiff and defence (including Catastrophic examinations using the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Post-104 disability, and assessment of treatment necessity and other specified benefits). Dr. Frank has been qualified as an expert in Clinical and Rehabilitation Psychology by FSCO arbitrators and by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and permitted to give expert testimony on areas within his scope of expertise.
