Dr. Fazaa is a registered clinical and school psychologist in Ontario. He completed his undergraduate studies at York University in 1998, graduating Summa cum Laude, York University’’s highest academic distinction. He went on to receive both his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at the University of Windsor, Windsor. During his time at the University of Windsor, he received many academic awards, research grants, and accolades, including the Canadian Governor General Gold Medal Award, Social Science and Humanities Research Council Grant, and Canadian Association of Suicide Prevention Research Award. Dr. Fazaa has published articles in a number of prestigious journals on a variety of topics including substance misuse, life stress events, psychotherapy, suicide risk, and personality dynamics and parenting. In addition to his academic accolades, Dr. Fazaa has worked in a variety of settings in Canada and the United States in corrections, hospitals, psychiatric facilities, community mental health, the school board, and private practice for 10 years. Dr. Fazaa provides psychological services for people across the life span. He utilizes an integrative approach to psychotherapy that draws on his extensive training in cognitive-behavioural, psychodynamic, systems approaches, experiential and short-term crisis intervention therapies. He has also received advanced training in hypnosis as an adjunct to psychotherapy.
