Profile:
I have been practicing as an Occupational Therapist since 1988. My background includes experience within a rehabilitation centre and the community, specifically working with individuals with brain injuries and other disabilities and their functional, cognitive, physical, and behavioural implications. This experience includes vocational exploration work in a community-based employment program, consultation with an autism school support program, and management of a residential program for individuals with acquired brain injuries.
I have been employed with Rehabilitation Management Inc. (RMI) since 2005. In this role, I assess the medical/rehabilitation, housekeeping/home maintenance, and attendant care needs of individuals who have sustained traumatic injuries, and complete evaluations of future care needs and life care plans. In addition, I provide occupational therapy intervention and employment counselling for individuals who have sustained a traumatic and/or catastrophic injury.
I am a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner (CCLCP) through the International Commission on Health Care Certification and am a provider of the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS), which is a standardized observational evaluation to evaluate the quality of a person’s performance of activities of daily living skills. A team approach is used at RMI to ensure availability of supports and quality of services.
I live in Owen Sound and work throughout Grey/Bruce, the Georgian Bay region, and Southern Ontario.
