One OT (Occupational Therapist) from the start – from hospital discharge, to home assessment, therapy…to life care plan. I am a duly qualified Occupational Therapist fully registered to practice in the Province of Ontario. I am a member of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and hold registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. I have a diverse background in Occupational Therapy. I worked at McMaster Hospital and with the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) to coordinate services for inpatients to safely return home. I have provided Occupational Therapy services for CCAC, Insurance Companies, Lawyers and Veterans Affairs Canada. These services included In-Home OT assessments, treatments and reports. These experiences have made me well aware of the numerous health care systems and how they interact. I have experience treating clients of all ages, from children to older adults, with various medical conditions, such as spinal cord injury, brain/head injury, amputations, musculoskeletal/soft tissue injuries, arthritis, and pain. I have an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with Psychology from the University of Western Ontario. I achieved my Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2003. I am a registered Authorizer for the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) to access Ontario government funding for mobility devices, such as walkers, wheelchairs, power wheelchairs, and associated seating and backrests. I am also calibrated as a reliable and valid rater with the Assessment for Motor and Process Skills (AMPS), which is a standardized occupational therapy assessment. I am a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner with the Commission on Health Care Certification.
