Jocelyn Cowls is an occupational therapist with a Masters in Occupational Science. She has worked in mental health for over 29 years with expertise addressing PostTraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), mood disorders, eating disorders and addictions. For 16 years Jocelyn worked at Homewood Health Centre, in one of the few inpatient programs in Canada treating people with PTSD. As a private clinician, a large majority of her clients are first responders i.e. police officers, paramedics and firefighters, correction officers, dispatchers or Canadian Forces veterans. Jocelyn assists clients to reduce and manage illness symptoms; improve daily functioning; and return to meaningful and sustainable work. Jocelyn in a registered provider with both WSIB and Veteran Affairs Canada. Treatment approaches utilized include:
