Dr. Amy Shannon is a registered clinical psychologist. She received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from York University.

Before founding Resolution Psychology Dr. Shannon spent 5 years working at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in the Psychological Trauma/Work, Stress, & Health programs where she assisted individuals who were experiencing challenges with the sequela of psychological trauma with a special focus on working with first responders.

At Resolution Psychology, Dr. Shannon has continued her focus on assisting first responders and their spouses. She has also branched out to other high performance occupations including elite athletes, healthcare providers, and legal professionals. She works with the Canadian Olympic Committee, professional sports teams, and professional trade organizations to improve the mental well-being of their members. She also has a special interest in working with individuals who are experiencing challenges with eating, body image, and perfectionism.​

​Dr. Shannon uses her extensive training and experience to tailor treatment to best meet your needs. She works exclusively using evidence-based treatments including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.

At Resolution Psychology, Dr. Shannon provides assessment and treatment for adults and couples with a range of challenges including: trauma, disordered eating, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, and stress. She strives to use her expertise in evidence-based approaches to therapy to collaboratively work with clients to meet their goals and create lasting change in their lives.

In addition to her work at Resolution Psychology, Dr. Shannon also holds a faculty position at York University. She has published several scholarly works focused on perfectionism, eating, and body image.
