Roshan Lazarus Chandra Shekar is an internationally trained occupational therapist with more than 2 years of experience in community-based rehabilitation in a rural rehabilitation centre in Southern India. She moved to Ontario, Canada in 2015 to fulfil her dream to broaden her knowledge in occupational therapy and to practice as a registered occupational therapist in Canada.

Roshan is well experienced in providing early intervention in paediatric conditions. She is also well experienced in working with adult and geriatric populations. She enjoys working with her clients one on one as well as in groups, providing training in Activities of Daily Living, vocational and social integration. Roshan enjoys working with a multidisciplinary team and has good communication skills. She is fluent in English and Tamil and can speak Malayalam with moderate fluency.

Having overcome many obstacles in her career as well as personal life, Roshan strongly believes in meaningful occupations as a medium to help people become who they want to be in order to live their lives meaningfully. She values each person as a unique individual and loves to work with them using their strengths and abilities to accommodate and restore, so that they can reach their life goals. Witnessing her clients succeed in their lives is something she is strongly passionate about and considers as success in her career.

Roshan’s hobbies are singing and doing arts and crafts. She also loves gardening and nature. She enjoys the company of family and friends and cooking meals for them. She likes to go to church on Sunday mornings, and have conversations with children, seniors and her friends. She enjoys the little things as well as the big things in life and wishes to just bring warmth and joy to people she comes across in her daily life.
