In reference to my educational and vocational background, I, AnneMarie Sorsa, received a Bachelor's of Honour's Arts degree in Sociology and Gerontology from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and a post-graduate Honour’s diploma in Therapeutic Recreation Services from Georgian College in Orillia, Ontario. I am a member in good standing of TRO – Therapeutic Recreation Ontario. I have practiced recreation therapy in a hospital, clinical setting for 19 years. I have been actively employed within the health care system at Baycrest Centre in Toronto, Ontario and Timmins & District Hospital in Timmins, Ontario and have acquired experience working in the field of recreation therapy since 1998. My expertise and extensive knowledge base has been gathered through direct career experience, work relations, seminars, conferences and ongoing continued education. I acquired a role as a Rehabilitation Consultant apprentice with LRS Inc. working within the community completing assessments and conducting case management services for clients who have sustained a brain injury and/or severe physical impairments from their involvement in a motor vehicle accident.
