Profile:

Kindrey Rowland, Speech-Language Pathologist, understands the complex nature of rehabilitation for people living with acquired brain injury. She approaches individuals and their families with optimism and a “can do”, “whatever it takes” approach. Kindrey has provided functional, community based services to children and adults living with acquired brain injury in Dufferin, Grey Bruce, Wellington, Peel and South Simcoe for 19 years through her private practice, the Orangeville Speech & Language Clinic. Kindrey is an award winning Speech-Language Pathologist, graduating first in her class both academically and clinically in 1995 (University of Western Ontario). Kindrey was recently nominated for Health Care Provider of The Year, Awards of Excellence in Brain Injury Rehabilitation, 2015. Kindrey’s approach to communication treatment following acquired brain injury focuses on helping children and adults succeed and feel confident in everyday life. She will work to help individuals increase their participation and independence in activities that are important to them. In collaboration with the rehabilitation team, Kindrey will help individuals promote success in meaningful activities, school or work, establish and maintain friendships and increase independence in daily and community activities. A full range of cognitive-communication assessment, treatment and consultation services are available in the home, workplace, school, community or at our accessible clinic. Cognitive-communication assessment services include identification of cognitive-communication strengths and weaknesses and their functional implications, selection of functional treatment goals and development of recommendations. Cognitive-communication treatment and consultation services are individualized, meaningful, functional, co-ordinated with the individual’s rehabilitation team, involve family and significant others, and are evidence-based.
