I am a Regulated Health Professional, practicing as a Rehabilitation Counsellor/Occupational Therapist in Ontario, Canada. I have been providing rehabilitation services in hospital and community settings since 1980, in both England and Canada. I have extensive experience assessing function and the impact physical and cognitive impairments have on a person’s ability to fulfill roles and responsibilities. My experience is both hospital and community based, with specific experience working with individuals experiencing chronic pain. Assessments take into account the individual’s roles at home and in the community and how they impact on one another. I have been involved in areas of specialty, such as palliative care, chronic pain, pediatrics, geriatrics, neurological conditions, and wheelchair and seating assessments. I have completed a Master’s of Science degree in Occupational Therapy, and I have teaching qualifications for Occupational Therapy and health-related subjects. I also provide Case Management services. I am an authorizer with the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Assistive Devices Program for Mobility Devices and I am a certified PGAP provider. I also provide Occupational Therapy services to Veteran Affairs Canada. I work in a team approach to ensure an availability of supports and quality services to facilitate the client's transition from hospital based care to the community. I provide services in Hamilton, Brant, Niagara, Haldimand Norfolk, and rural areas to the west of Brant towards London.
