Prior to joining DMARehability in 2002, Joyce worked at Hamilton primarily in the areas of Neurosciences and Trauma (acute rehabilitation). She was responsible for provision of acute rehabilitation (including coma stimulation, serial casting and splinting, cognitive remediation and functional retraining), coordinating discharge to the community and transfer to long term rehabilitation programs. Joyce works with individuals at various stages of their progression from injury to recovery. Her caseload includes individuals with soft tissue injuries, musculoskeletal trauma and those with brain and spinal cord injuries who have complex needs including equipment, Occupational Therapy intervention, home modification, coordination with other therapy providers, employers, schools and other participants of rehabilitation programs such as family and support services.
