Kourtney Richardson, B.A. (Therapeutic Recreation), graduated from the University of Waterloo Ontario with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Therapeutic Recreation. Kourtney has experience working with persons with diverse complex developmental disabilities that include hemiplegia, quadriplegia, neural tube closure deficits, micro/hydrocephaly, genetic deformities, cerebral palsy and ABI patients. She also has extensive experience with individuals with minimal to no communication skills, individuals with limited mobility and has provided programming focused on activation, sensory stimulation, leisure and therapeutics. Kourtney enjoys assisting with physiotherapy treatments as well as assisting in community rehabilitation programs. She works with the treatment team to develop a variety of goals that contribute to the patient’s overall health and wellbeing. Kourtney has been trained to guide programs established and supervised by the physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and speech-language pathologist, which are specific to the client’s needs to improve strength, flexibility, balance and coordination and conditioning requirements.
