I’m Victoria Donahue, MA, RP, a Registered Psychotherapist specializing in trauma, anxiety, attachment wounds, and nervous system healing. I work with adults who may look like they’re functioning well on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck, or caught in patterns they can’t seem to change.
My approach is grounded in the understanding that trauma is not simply what happened to us, but how our nervous system adapted in order to survive. Many of the ways we struggle today, such as people-pleasing, perfectionism, chronic anxiety, emotional numbness, difficulty setting boundaries, or relationship challenges, often began as intelligent adaptations to earlier experiences.
I integrate EMDR, somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), and other nervous system-based approaches to help clients process unresolved experiences while building greater emotional regulation, self-trust, and resilience. Rather than focusing only on insight, we work with both the mind and body so change feels lasting, not just intellectual.
I believe therapy should feel collaborative, compassionate, and paced in a way that honours your nervous system. Healing isn’t about becoming someone different. It’s about reconnecting with the parts of yourself that had to be hidden in order to cope and discovering that safety, connection, and authenticity no longer have to come at the expense of one another.
