I am an RN, Registered Psychotherapist, Certified Clinical Traumatologist, and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist with the Ontario and American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. For the past 30 years, I have worked in both public and private sectors providing psychotherapeutic intervention to children, youth, adults, couples, and families living with the effects of Traumatic Brain Injury, PTSD, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and/or neurotrauma. As a Clinical Researcher with the Bloorview Research Institute, my primary research focuses on family interventions and family needs after brain injury. I have published several manuscripts in international peer-reviewed journals as well as five book chapters on family assessment and intervention after brain injury. As the primary developer of the Brain Injury Family Intervention for Adolescents (BIFI-A), I conduct training in Canada, the US, and Europe on family intervention after brain injury. I am also co-developer of the internationally validated Family Needs Questionnaire for Pediatric ABI.
